Socionics Functions

Introduction

As mentioned in the Model A page, functions are the eight components of Model A. Each sociotype has a unique pairing of information elements to its functions. Which information elements are paired to which functions is the primary determinant in that person's method of information metabolism. This variation in information metabolism between the types manifests itself in the person's personality, mannerisms, behavior, and interaction with others.

There are four blocks in Model A; each block contains both an accepting and producing function. Because the dominant information metabolism pathways (IM pathways) are intra-block between the accepting and producing function, it is useful to discuss functions in the context of the blocks that they are within. Click on one of the links below for more detailed information regarding the blocks and their functions.
