Socionics to MBTI

I read that the correlation between socionics types and MBTI types works for extroverts, but for introverts you have to flip the j and p. For example, if someone is an INTp in MBTI, they would be an INTj in socionics... and I'm wondering if that would make them an LII (INTj) or if you already accounted for this and they would be an ILI (INTp). I absolutely LOVE your type descriptions... more accurate and in-depth than what I've found in MBTI, but I have books that use MBTI types to explain the relationships between different types and need to know whether introverts should have the p and j flipped or not when converting. My best advice is to determine your socionics type independently from your MBTI type; there is no accurate way to convert from one system to the other. I hope this helps.

It not even as simple as that. There are slight differences in some the terminologies between MBTI and Socionics. For instance, to be Extroverted and Judging in MBTI is not the same as being an Extratim and Rational in Socionics and you can't get much more basic than that.

The slight differences in the definition of the functions is that in Socionics functions have wants and needs. The functions described within the psyche for each theory are the same.

Everyone is saying that if you are introverted, you have to change the j and p. Extroverts stay the same. After I tool the socionics text a few times, I came out INFj 1Ne 4 times and INFp once. In myers-briggs, I'm INFP always.
Therefore, it made sense that I was more INFj in socionics and INFP in Myers-Briggs. I was happy about this.

But, then, I looked at a page on this website that described what rational and irrational meant. As an INFj in socionics, I am considered a rational. But, the description of a rational is not me at all! Your description of an irrational is on the money.

I don't understand this at all. Could you please help make sense of this mess?

You are not your 4 letters. You are your functions. They are same in both MBTI and socionics. MBTI 1,2,3,4 = Socionics 1,2,6,5. MBTI uses only the valued functions.
